Slovenia won EuroBasket 2017 Championship

Slovenian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, Slovenian Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Karl Erjavec, Slovenian Minister for Economic Development and Technology H.E. Mr. Zdravko Počivalšek arrived Istanbul by a private plane in order to support their country at the final match of the Eurobasket 2017 which was held in Istanbul Sinan Erdem Sports Hall on September 17, 2017.

Slovenian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Igor Jukic and Honorary Consul General of Slovenia Başar Arıoğlu met them at the airport.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım held a dinner in honor of Slovenian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, Serbian Prime Minister H.E. Mrs. Ana Brnabic and Prime Minister of Estonia H.E. Mr. Juri Ratas  on the occassion of  the final match. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and guest Prime Ministers, Slovenian Ministers, Slovenian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Igor Jukic and Honorary Consul General of Slovenia Mr. Başar Arıoğlu watched the final match between Slovenia and Serbia together.

Having defeated Serbia 93-85 in İstanbul, Slovenia won their first ever gold medal in the EuroBasket 2017 and became Europe’s champion.

Following the EuroBasket 2017 final game in İstanbul, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım accompanied  his Slovenian,  Serbian and Estonian counterparts during their visit to the Eurasian Tunnel Museum with Honorary Consul Mr. Arıoğlu who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eurasia Tunnel Operation Construction and Investment Inc. Co. (ATAŞ).
