Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Slovenia to attend the Bled Strategic Forum and SEECP meeting on 4-5 September 2017

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu visited Slovenia on 4-5 September 2017 to attend the Bled Strategic Forum and the Informal Meeting of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Foreign Ministers.

Minister Çavuşoğlu was welcomed by President Pahor and his counterpart FM Erjavec of Slovenia at the opening of Bled Strategic Forum, on 4 September 2017.

At the panel on "A new vision for a new reality" of the Bled Strategic Forum, Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined the need for a humanitarian approach for humanitarian issues and expressed that populism is on the rise in Europe and a new and prudent vision instead of double standards is needed.

On the marjins of the Forum, Minister Çavuşoğlu held bilateral meeting with his counterpart Bushati of Albania, Erjavec of Slovenia and with High Representative Mogherini of the European Union.

Minister Çavuşoğlu gave interviews to Slovenia's national public broadcasting organization RTV-Slo, Slovenian Press Agency STA and the daily Dnevnik the same day.

On 5 September 2017, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended Informal Meeting of the SEECP Foreign Ministers. At the meeting regional cooperation was evaluated.
