Pegasus Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ljubljana
The inaugural ceremony for Pegasus Airlines direct flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) and Ljubljana (LJU) was held at Sabiha Gökçen Airport on 26 January 2026.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Gorazd Renčelj, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Ankara, Mr. Mustafa Başar Arıoğlu, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia in Istanbul, Pegasus Airlines CEO Ms. Güliz Öztürk, senior executives from Pegasus Airlines and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (ISG), as well as airport officials.
Speakers emphasized that the new route is expected to contribute to the development of tourism, cultural exchange, and commercial relations between the two countries.
Following the speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony officially marked the launch of the route and Pegasus Airlines first flight to Ljubljana departed with passengers on board.
Under the new route, reciprocal flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ljubljana will operate three times a week (Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), with an average flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
With the launch of Pegasus Airlines Ljubljana services, transportation between Istanbul and the capital of Slovenia has become more accessible, creating new travel opportunities for citizens of both countries.
