Katja Šulc Concert

Katja Šulc is a singer, songwriter and musician who eclectically threads together poetry and music, through contemporary folk, alternative chanson, modern and traditional poetry, endangered languages and cultures. She released five studio albums. Her musical debut “Mila“ (2008) pays homage to renowned Slovenian poetess and actress Mila Kačič. “Twisted Delight“ (2013) sets to music Katja's original lyrics written at poetry workshops in New York. “Kamlisajlan“ (2016) is dedicated to Rromani poetry from Balkans and Eastern Europe, while “Caricias“ (2021) pays an intimate homage to Mexico and its poetry. In Spring 2024 Katja released her fifth album “West Wind Blow From Your Prairie Nest” inspired by Native American poetry and culture. Music, which has been an important part of her life from her travels to Mexico and later studies at the New School in New York, is always led by a deep emotional understanding. If poetry is a necessity which fills our life, Katja Šulc takes us on the path of a nomadic flaneur of musical poetry.
